'Our investment in your future is helping the economic regeneration of communities affected by changes in the steel industry'
UK Steel Enterprise is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Corus Group Ltd which in turn is a subsidiary of Tata Steel. Our primary aim is to help improve the economies of those areas of the United Kingdom affected by changes in the steel industry.
Since our establishment over 30 years ago, our strategy has remained straight forward and consistent: to create a supportive environment for the great entrepreneurial spirit that exists in our small business communities, and in doing so, to encourage job and wealth creation in our steel areas.
During this time we have provided finance and premises, together with help and advice, to more than 4,500 growth businesses. Our financial support to date totals over £70million and has enabled UK Steel Enterprise supported businesses to create over 68,000 new jobs in our steel areas. In addition we have been able to contribute both in kind and financially to numerous worthwhile community support initiatives.
And though each company and every project has been different, they all share the same common goal - success. UK Steel Enterprise aims to continue fostering such success as the most productive and pragmatic method of helping our communities to thrive and generate the most exciting and best possible prospects for the future.
The creation in 1975 and the continuing work of UK Steel Enterprise is a demonstration of the commitment of the Corus Group to sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility. Economic regeneration, is by necessity, a long term process. UK Steel Enterprise is committed to maintaining its support to small & medium sized enterprises and community support initiatives for as long as it takes!
