South Wales rocker Adam Ovens and his friend Joel Withey have got their graphics business on the road - with a helping hand from UK Steel Enterprise.

The Caspien front man and his friend have got their new business - Autografik - on the road with support from the Kickstart Fund.

Autografik offers a wide range of graphics for many applications, but specialises in vehicles. “Businesses realise that their vehicle is the best mobile advert they can have, so they want to make the most of it,” said Joel.

“It is an excellent way to promote a business and get your name seen. Your vehicle becomes your billboard.”

As well as the vehicle side of the business, Autografik offers signage and social media branding.

The business has received support from the Kickstart Fund run jointly by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise. BG Effect was also instrumental in providing assistance to get the new business up and running.

A grant of £1000 enabled Joel and Adam to invest in computer and print equipment.

Glyn Thomas Area Manager in Wales for UK Steel Enterprise said: “It is most encouraging to see this new, creative business starting up and we are delighted to have been able to work with Blaenau Gwent Council to help it get up and running.”

Cllr Jim McIlwee, Deputy Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council said: “I am delighted that we are supporting another business within Blaenau Gwent. The Kick Start initiative provides new and existing businesses with grants.  Over the years a number of businesses have been awarded this grant to help them set up and grow.

“As well as grants, the Council’s regeneration department offers a wide range of services to support new and existing businesses such as property unit management, business and investment advice.  For further information visit, www.blaenau-gwent.gov.uk to view what services we can offer”
